Helping Small Businesses Make an Impact

about lpc

Our Mission

To provide thoughtful, beautiful design that helps small businesses make a bigger impact — by reflecting their values, telling their stories, and connecting them with the people who need them most.

Creative support that reflects your values.

Little Penguin Creative is a design studio dedicated to helping small businesses do good work in the world — and look good doing it. Whether you’re launching something brand new or giving your brand a thoughtful refresh, we’re here to make the process easier, more enjoyable, and beautifully effective.

We bring more nearly 30 years of experience in graphic and web design to every project — along with a belief that good design can help good people make a bigger impact. Our job is to turn your ideas into something you’re proud to share with the world.

A bit about The Human Behind the Penguin

“I truly believe that we are surrounded by so much good around us, every day. I started Little Penguin Creative to support people doing good work in the world — because I believe thoughtful design can amplify impact, help great ideas find the audiences they deserve, and lead people to believe that each and every one of us can choose to be a part of the good in the world.”

  • I’ve been a graphic designer for 20+ years and a web designer since the earliest days of the internet (yes, with table layouts and animated GIFs).

  • I run Little Penguin Creative from my home office — often with a cup of coffee and two or three needy teenagers in the background.

  • I have ADHD, which means I see connections, patterns, and possibilities others might miss — and I love bringing that superpower into my creative work.

  • I believe in kindness, good design, and saying things like they really are (with maybe an occasional sprinkle of Gen-X-style sarcasm).

  • Why “Little Penguin”? When I first started my business, my oldest kiddo was just a wobbly little toddler with the most adorable waddling gait — he looked exactly like a tiny penguin when he walked. The more I thought about it, in fact, it seemed that “little penguin” was a VERY fitting name for what began as a relatively wobbly little business… and it didn’t take much for the moniker to stick. Over time, the name came to mean even more: it turns out that penguins are creative problem-solvers, great collaborators, and excellent dressers. It’s almost as if it was meant to be!
